1st IJCAI Workshop on Safe Physical AI: Call for Papers
We are excited to announce the 1st Workshop on Safe Physical AI at IJCAI 2026!
The workshop brings together researchers working on safety for AI systems that interact with the physical world, such as robots, autonomous vehicles, medical devices, industrial automation and autonomous weapons systems. As AI systems are increasingly deployed in safety-critical physical environments, ensuring their safe operation is one of the most important challenges facing the community.
Call for Papers
We invite submissions on topics including (but not limited to):
- Safe reinforcement learning and control
- Formal verification and validation of physical AI systems
- Safe human-robot interaction
- Risk-aware planning and decision-making
- Sim-to-real transfer with safety guarantees
- Safety in foundation models for robotics
- Monitoring and anomaly detection for physical AI
